1.  Lepem1Narl mutant rat was generated using CRISPR/Cas9 technology and exon3 of Leptin   was deleted around ~2000bp.
2.  These leptin deficient rats exhibit obesity and a diabetes-like syndrome of hyperglycemia and glucose intolerance.
