Strain Description
1.  The linear designed construct composed of human osteocalcin (OCN) promoter and Mir29a precursor full-length sequence was transferred into fertilized eggs from C57BL/6N mice.
2.  RT-quantitative PCR confirmed that Mir29a expression in skeleton rather than other tissues was significantly increased compared to wild-type mice.
3.  Mice overexpression mir29a in osteoblasts driven by osteocalcin promoter displayed higher bone mineral density, trabecular volume and mineral acquisition than wild-type mice.
4.  Mir29a overexpression attenuated the estrogen loss-mediated excessive osteoblast surface histology, osteoclast formation of bone marrow macrophages, receptor activator nuclear factor-κligand (RANKL) and C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 12 (CXCL12) expression.
