Strain Description
:
1.
The mutation originates on inbred strain “BALB/cByJNarl”, is crossed out to “C57BL/6NTacTcu” for 19 generations.
2.
Homozygous died around 12 days after birth and had following clinical phenotype, (a) show abnormal gait,(b) have a very short lifespan (average is only 10 days; maximum 12 days), (c) max body weight at death is only 2.5 gm), (d) have pale skin (indicating anemia).
3.
In histopathological examination, when comparing mutants with sex-matched wildtype littermates, homozygotes have data as follows, (a) show abnormal epiphyseal plate (lack of hypertrophic zone) in bones, (b) have low hematopoietic activity in either bone marrow or spleen or liver, (c) vacuolizations in various cells, may indicate the results of wasting syndrome.
4.
The mutation is mapped on chr.11:75,340,406-75,534,922 bp.
